Liquid Gas Barrier

MemTech Pro liquid gas barrier can be used to protect most building surfaces from the effect of liquid and water vapour, carbonation and as a gas barrier to prevent the ingress of Methane, CO2 and Radon. As a product that is a barrier to moisture, MemTech Pro liquid gas barrier can also be used as a DPM on floors and walls. The product is also suitable for certain waterproofing applications.

Application of MemTech Gas Barrier

MemTech Pro liquid gas barrier must be applied to a clean, sound and dust free surface. Any defects in the surface should be addressed first. The surface should be smooth or have a light, even texture and masonry should be flush pointed.

Wet conditions and inclement weather can have a negative effect on the MemTech Pro liquid gas barrier whilst it’s drying and therefore, these conditions should be avoided. Memtech liquid gas barrier should not be applied in temperatures below 7 degrees. Memtech liquid gas barrier can be applied by brush, roller or spray and a minimum thickness of 1.0mm must be achieved to provide a gas barrier. Where multiple coats are applied it is recommended that the coats are applied at right angles to each other.  The second coat should not be applied until the first coat becomes touch dry. This time can vary depending on site conditions. Typical drying times of 1-2 hours in favorable conditions. Second coats should be applied within 24 hours of the first coat.
