Fire Retardant Delta Membrane

Delta MS 500 Fire Cavity Drain Membrane is an 8mm studded membrane made from Delta’s new DELTASAFE fire-retardant material.  Its fire-retardant property offers protection against fire in areas where safety measures are not already in place. 

This membrane is part of a Type C waterproofing system, effectively dealing with water ingress below ground for new and existing basement projects. The membrane’s fire-retardant property is rated B-S2, d0 by EuroClass, meaning that it makes a limited contribution to the spread of fire. 

Type C Waterproofing with Delta MS 500 Fire Cavity Drain Membrane

This Delta MS 500 Fire membrane can be used for a variety of construction projects, above and below ground. The membrane is manufactured from a flexible material, making it suitable for structures prone to movement or vibration. As a reversible system, the membrane can be easily removed, leaving minimal damage to historical and heritage buildings. 

It can also be used in projects involving dry lining, screed and flooring in some circumstances, such as:

• Damp surfaces in below-ground structures
• Vaulted ceilings in cellars and archways
• Over painted, friable walls, contaminated walls, or surfaces with high salt content
• With a remedial damp proof course (DPC) on surfaces with high salt content or to instantly complete the installation immediately after installing the membrane. 

Installing Delta MS 500 Fire Cavity Drain Membrane 

Installing Delta Fire membranes is a quick and easy process. This MS 500 Fire Cavity Drain Membrane is clear, making it easier to select good fixing points on the substrate. 

Before the membrane can be installed, the wall must be prepared and clear of any debris. The clear membrane is then fixed to the wall using Delta Fire Retardant Ultra Fix Plugs.  In situations where joining or overlapping of the membrane sheets is required, then Delta Fire Retardant Fleece Tape can be used to seal the membrane.
